Education In The Covid Era

This book is the proceeding/outcome of International Seminar “Education in The COVID Era” held on last week of February 2021; organised by IQAC of the S. Kula Women’s College under the sponsorship of UGC-STRIDE-C1. It has four sub themes - Shifting paradigm of Education in new normal; Effectiveness of virtual classes during Lockdown; Role of ICT as alternate means of education during COVID pandemic; and other related theme of education in present situation. Different academic bodies/ institutions have been attempting or made effort to bridge up the gap of teaching learning process though the COVID pandemic affect entire system in the world. The question is “How far it can give effectiveness during such fighting for livelihood?” Yes none of us cared about education except food security and survival nothing else. Most of the countries were so busy to fight against COVID and series of Lock-down were imposed. Later in the middle part of the 2020 concerned government authorities think about maximum utility of ICT in all the system including Education Sector. It is also true that all the business sectors were in a sorry position except ICT sectors; even they got more profit during COVID pandemic that Internet service providers got millions of earning. Even in the post COVID Era or in the new normal the using of online classes will continue forever that it will give a big change in the education system. As we have seen in many institutions online classes are undergoing accordingly but it cannot compare with traditional or conventional education system. There will be certain arguments in this regards. It is no wrong to say something is better than nothing even if it cannot fulfil the aspiration or expectation of e-learning. As such this book will have different volumes that accentuate shifting paradigm of education in different perspective.
