Effect of ACBT and TENS in Abdominal Surgeries

Abdominal surgeries results in higher incidence of post operative pulmonary complication as compared to other surgical procedures. There is combine effect of general anesthesia and surgery on the respiratory functions. Surgeries alter postoperative pulmonary function as observed by impairment of lungs volumes such as functional residual capacity vital capacity tidal volume and pain post surgery. ACBT is an holistic approach to improve lung function and TENS have an therapeutic effects on pain. Therefore use of ACBT and TENS will improve the pulmonary function and pain perception in patients with abdominal surgeries.
