The seed is a significant stage in the higher plant life cycle in terms of its survival as a crop. It is the plant's dispersal unit that can survive the time between seed maturation and next generation established as a seedling after it has germinated. Seeds from many indigenous species are difficult for germination. An important thing that a grower should do is to know as much as possible about the life history ecology and environment to the species he or she wishes to grow in order to understand the processes that seeds from growing target species are going through in nature. Here in this project two plants Ocimum sanctum L and Ocimum bacillicum L. leave's aqueous extracts were prepared and its effect on the seed germination of Chickpea and Mung Seeds. The data showed aqueous extracts enhance the germination speed and growth of the plants. Further analysis of identification of particular phytochemical is required as growth and germination enhancer.
