For the first time in the practice of artificial insemination of pigs the influence of low-molecular thiol compounds on the quality indicators of boar sperm has been studied. A number of new fundamentally important patterns have been identified allowing for a significant expansion and deepening of the theoretical and practical foundations of animal reproduction. For the first time the possibility of increasing the cryoresistance of spermatozoa by introducing low concentrations of substances with specific and nonspecific effects (low-molecular-weight SH compounds urea) into the cryopreservation medium has been demonstrated. The parameters of the relationship between the content of sulfhydryl groups (SH-) in sperm and its quality indicators have been determined. New media have been developed for short-term storage (+2-00C) glucose-citrate-dithiothreitol-unititol (GCDU) and long-term storage glucose-citrate-glycerol-dithiothreitol-unititol-urea-yolk (GCDUMZ) (-1960C). The use of the developed media allows for an increase in the efficiency of using high-value breeding boars.
