Environmental contaminants with endocrine disrupting property have been of increasing concern to the scientific community. Recent increasing attention to these compounds have been due to association of these compounds to wide variety of diseases including cancer reproductive disorder immune disorder defective metabolism and different other diseases in human their livestock and wildlife. For reproduction to be successful certain factors like structural integrity of the reproductive system hormones genetic factors environmental factors etc plays a significant role. The present study investigated the effects of butylparaben (BuPben) on uterus of albino mice. BuPben is a widely used preservative in food stuffs cosmetics and medicines including baby food products because of its low cost and high efficiency as an antimicrobial agent. Because of its presence in variety of sources of human exposure it enters in human body through all possible routes including inhalation dermal absorption and ingestion. BuPben in this study has shown estrogenic properties and have significantly affected reproduction.
