Long term experiments are providing the best practical approximation to test of sustainability. Long term monitoring allows both the identification of current changes in the soil and prediction of future changes. Hence a study was carried out at the vegetable research farm Department of Vegetable Crops CCS HAU Hisar in which the effects of gypsum and FYM on soil organic carbon and nitrogen fractions under sodic water irrigation was observed. Results indicates that the use of FYM in conjuction with gypsum is very important for ensure better soil health and sustaining crop productivity on long term basis.
