EFFICACY OF INSECTICIDES AGAINST CUCURBIT FRUIT FLY ON BITTER GOURD

Experiments were conducted in the Entomology field laboratory Bangladesh Agricultural University Mymensingh during the period of February to July 2018 to evaluate the efficacy of some new generation insecticides against cucurbit fruit fly Bactrocera cucurbitae (Coquillette) on bitter gourd. Specifically Ravjum 14.5 SC (Indoxacarb) Karfu 10 EC (Alpha-cypermethrin) Sniper 10 SC (Fenopropathrin + Fenvalerate) and Manik 20 SP (Acetamiprid) had been selected for this study. They were applied either individually or in some selected combination and their efficacy was evaluated on different parameters viz. percent fruit infestation number of healthy or marketable fruits/m2 marketable fruit yield (t/ha).
