Excerpt from Egypt Nubia and Ethiopia: Illustrated by One Hundred Stereoscopic Photographs Taken by Francis Frith for Messrs. Negretti and Zambra

The series of views is arranged geographically from north to south. We begin with Cairo and the Pyramids and following the course of the river we proceed to Dendera to Thebes to Hermonthis to Philae and Biggeh at the first cataract where we quit Egypt and enter Nubia and then on to Abou Simbel at the second cataract examining the principal buildings as we pass. This takes us to our sixty-second view. After this the ruins become less frequent and less important and our last view finds us at the temple of Soleh in Ethiopia beyond the stony district of the second cataract.

About the Publisher

Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
