ELDERLY PROXIMAL FEMUR FRACTURE

About The Book

Proximal femur fracture (PFF) represents a major impact on public health and is associated with high morbidity and mortality and high socioeconomic costs. Hospital readmissions within 30 days after fracture have double the chance of mortality during the first year. Clinical causes are significantly more common (13 times more common) than surgical causes. Objectives: To evaluate factors associated with readmission within 30 days after discharge and in-hospital mortality in elderly patients diagnosed with PFF.
