Electrical Optimal Power Flow Applications of Optimization

In operation and planning of power systems operators need to make decision with respect to different objectives. Hence several tools have been developed to assist the operators. Optimal power flow (OPF) is one of them to assist the operators in running the system optimally under specific constraints through presenting number of efficient and reliable optimization approaches to solve the optimal power flow (OPF) problem. The approaches employ Linear Programming Method (LPM) Interior Point Algorithm (IPA) Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO).
