Electronic health records (EHR) represent a modern system of recording patients’ medical history in a more organized way so that when a patient needs to be diagnosed or receive treatment for a disease the history of their health condition can be accessed instantly by the care giver. Previously the recording of a patient’s medical history was done on paper. Moreover protecting that data became very expensive and hazardous. However the introduction of EHR made it easier and more cost effective to record and protect patient data and information. The aims of this book are to explore the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) amongst physicians within the context of Saudi Arabia.
