About the Book: The Special Theory of Relativity is one of the revolutionary theories of 20th-century Physics. This book is primarily intended for students of physical science and mathematics at the undergraduate level and the author attempts to make clear the conceptual difficulties that they usually face in their first learning of the subject. About the Author: After getting his M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from Calcutta University the author did some research work in Theoretical Physics in the Physics Department Jadavpur University. Thereafter he joined the Education Service Govt. of West Bengal and taught at several Govt. colleges in the state. On retirement from the service the author became a life member of the Calcutta Institute of Theoretical Physics and got engaged in theoretical research work. He has several research papers published in the Physical Review Indian Journal of Theoretical Physics and International Journal of Oceans and Oceanography.
