Employment and the Depressed Areas

<p>Originally published in 1936 during the Great Depression this book analyses the efforts of the British Government to relieve the rampant unemployment in the most distressed areas and discusses why these efforts were ineffective. The book put forward a number of proposals to help ease unemployment and encourage investment in depressed areas such as the development of trading estates investment in transport and social services.</p>
