The book presents empirical information on the socio-economic profile of the tribal poultry owners. This book would bring into focus the existing poultry farming practices regarding housing feeding breeding production management healthcare and marketing of poultry and poultry products followed by tribal poultry owners which will further reflect their knowledge and skill in this particular enterprise. In addition would provide an insight into the constraints/problems in rural poultry production as experienced by poultry owners in order to search and suggest appropriate strategies/model for backyard poultry farming. Finally the extension strategies and SHG approach on backyard poultry farming will help the planners policymakers scientists change agents extension workers NGOs and all those concerned with developmental activities to promote sustainable development.
