Energy Consumption Patterns in the Residential Sector

Energy is an essential resource for carrying out the most diverse daily activities in a home especially when located in small and large urban centres. This work contributes to an understanding of how domestic energy consumption patterns are explained particularly in households living in the 14th BairroNhaconjo in Beira City central Mozambique. Data were collected using first a bibliographic and documentary survey and then direct surveys and measurements were used as a data collection tool. Electricity with an average consumption of 37 kWh/month per family charcoal 38.3 kg/month LPG 11.1 kg/month wood 44.7 kg/month sawdust 7.9 kg/month kerosene 0.75L/month; candle 17 Un/month and finally the battery with 19 Un/month as well as different consumer profiles are analysed. The research covered overestimated socio-economic information and use obtaining quantity fuel costs among others. It is concluded that the domestic energy consumption patterns were very differentiated.
