Energy Efficiency in Industry

About The Book

This feasibility study carried out from February 2014 to July 2014 concerns the rehabilitation and improvement of the electrical and energy circuits at the Minoterie du Faso plant based in Burkina Faso. The aim was to bring it into line with electrical safety standards minimize energy consumption and increase its economic profitability. Firstly this work consisted in diagnosing the Minoterie''s electrical installations and receivers. Secondly the plant''s MV/LV electrical network was brought up to standard following an appropriate design and complete sizing of the low-voltage network resulting in 02 power transformers each with a capacity of 630 kVA and a 1250 kVA emergency unit to cover the total installed electrical load of 955 kW. Electrical connections will be made using cables with cross-sections ranging from 1.5 to 240 mm² and a set of 42 electrical switchboards. The work will be spread over 1 year and will cost a total of 1487951050 FCFA. In the end the recommended energy efficiency measures will produce almost free energy after 13 years and for 12 years with a reduction in CO2 emissions of 11028 tonnes.
