Enforcement of decisions of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights

About The Book

In Africa the young Court of Arusha with its fifteen years of judicial activism has seen a significant number of cases with final judgments. But this one struggles to find the ideal formula to make these decisions enforceable by the States which exhibit sovereignist subterfuges because the mission of execution of the decisions is put at the charge of the executive council of the African Union. This book comes to pose the diagnosis to propose solutions drawn from the good practices implemented by the European Court of Human Rights and the Inter-American Court in order to propose tracks of solutions for an effective implementation of the decisions of the African Court of Human and Peoples' Rights.
