The book Entertainment-Education in Nigerian broadcasting is a chronicle of the influence of the Entertainment-Education (E-E) strategy on the Nigerian broadcast audience. It is a novel attempt at recording remarkable antecedents of pro social and behavioural changes brought about by the E-E strategy from the Nigerian independence till date. Through survey and in depth interview methodologies it was discovered that E-E programmes abound on the Nigerian broadcast stations (radio and television) under different programme formats. Various pro-social issues are incorporated in these E-E programmes with highly perceived influence on the audience. However challenges of lack of adequate funding research policy and manpower where found to be confronting the use of this effective educational strategy. The book recommends among others that Entertainment-Education programmes should be produced based on audience research in order to meet specific needs of the broadcast audience. The book is a ready resource material for Entertainment-Education scholars broadcast managers and producers as well as policy makers both in Nigeria and the world over.
