Global climate change has various adverse impacts on our planet Earth. Of these impacts one of the major one is reduction in food production and nutritional content of the same. In addition due to rapid population growth the food source which will be available in the climate change scenario will be insufficient to meet the demand side thus will lead to demand-supply imbalance. Moreover the stress on limited food resources will compel to search for alternative source of food materials in near future. In the light of these conditions this book attempts to explore ‘insects’ as a source of food. The trial inhabitants of Bhamragad administrative block of Gadchiroli district of Central India consume insects as a source of food and medicine. This book provides detail about the insects used as a source of food and the methods of preparation of the food is also described. The nutritional content of these insects have also been presented. The future lies in insects as a source of food.
