Abstract: Is entrepreneurship a solution to youth unemployment in Côte d'Ivoire? An analysis of the characteristics of the entrepreneurial potential according to gender of 528 students at the University of Bouaké enrolled in licence 3 and master 1 in 2017 leads to a negative answer. Analysis of the scores on a self-assessment test shows that the lack of enthusiasm among young graduates for entrepreneurship is largely due to the general education (school and university) they received. In fact most of them have little entrepreneurial potential. More specifically female students have the lowest entrepreneurial potential because of the prejudice against girls. Key words: entrepreneurship human capital prediscrimination and gender.
