Environmental education and management in schools

Environmental disasters are becoming increasingly evident to the world's population. It is the responsibility of human beings to take measures aimed at reducing these impacts on the environment. As a result researchers have realised the potential of educational activities in mitigating these impacts and thus Environmental Education (EE) and Environmental Management (EM) have emerged as measures to mitigate environmental problems. The primary scope of this research was to implement practical environmental education and management activities at the São Pedro school. To achieve the research objective methods developed by leading researchers in the field of Environmental Education and Management were analysed and refined. Meetings were held at the São Pedro school to develop practical activities including the construction of vegetable gardens children's recycling bins compost bins and booklets. At the end of the project it was found that Environmental Education and Environmental Management should be implemented in more schools across the country as it is only through the environmental awareness of future citizens that we can achieve a more sustainable society with a better quality of life.
