The publication presents the results of the scientific study of environmental education of teenagers in children''s libraries of Belarus conducted by the National Library of Belarus in 2016-2017. This is the first national study on this issue. The study of the effectiveness of environmental education of adolescents by means of a children''s library is described comprehensively through the prism of opinions of adolescent users as well as by analyzing the impact of librarians on the formation of environmental culture of adolescent children. Particular attention is paid to determining the level of environmental culture of teenage library users as well as the development of evidence-based practical recommendations to optimize the process of environmental education. Using the results of the study will allow library specialists to use material financial and labor resources more rationally in working with adolescent audiences. The publication is addressed to librarians a wide range of specialists in the field of culture education and upbringing as well as researchers and all those who care about the problem of environmental education of the younger generation.
