Environmental Effects on Lactation Performance of Murrah Buffalo

The impact of climatic parameters on milk production in murrah buffaloes were investigated using monthly milk production record by 379 lactations of murrah buffaloes in Dairy Farm college of Agriculture Marathwada Krishi Vidhyapeeth Parbhani during the years from 1985 to 2009. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to investigate various sources of variation for milk yield. The calving of murrah buffaloes were not equally distributed in all season of the year. The influence of environment factor on peak milk yield lactation length lactation yield was studied. Comfort zone for high production of Murrah buffalo was identified in the work.
