About The Book

Air pollution and its possible impact on human health has been the subject of growing interest in sub-Saharan African countries in recent years. In Cameroon there is a lack of data on the situation. The aim of this preliminary study was to highlight the clinical manifestations linked to air pollution among the inhabitants of Douala and Dschang in Cameroon. It was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study carried out between September 2013 and February 2014 in the two cities. Four hundred and one (401) active healthy-looking people under the age of 30 were included in the study. These were bend skiner motorcycle riders coded as MBD (Motor Bikes Drivers) individuals working daily on the streets coded as IWS (Individuals Working daily on Street) and individuals working in closed places coded as IWCP (Individuals Working daily in Closed Places). A questionnaire was used to extract demographic data and clinical manifestations linked to air pollution among these categories of people.
