A brain stroke is the main cause of neurological morbidity and mortality. In a developing country such as Pakistan the socioeconomic burden of stroke is tremendous due to insufficient funds availability and inefficient health care providing staff. Further that to cope with this grave problem still a complete epidemiological data is not available. In order to address this problem extensive research work has been undertaken to find out the prevalence of risk factors and their interplay in rural populations.
