Ludmilla Chakrabary was born in Siberia Russia. She lived in Estonia and later on in Tver from where following the footsteps of the famous merchant and traveler Afanasy Nikitin she came to live in India where she resides now. While living in India she has written nine books in English most of them collections of stories. The Era of Perfection is her first book in her native tongue. Her profession that of a teacher of English helps Ludmilla to write in English and her love for the Russian literature and poetry encourages her to tell stories in Russian. In addition to her writing Ludmilla is fond of fine arts of painting. She has had twenty-five solo shows to her credit. She says “My love for literature and painting complement each other. Very often the images from my canvases come to life in the hope of sharing with me their stories. I only have to put them on paper.
