The book maintains the strength that has made historical study of the past and present of Eritrea. It continues to present survey of Eritrean history treating the development and growth of nation through a unique experience of freedom struggle. This works includes all the elements of History Society and Economic Politics Military and Communication regarding Eritrea. It mainly contains three broad sections respectively Ancient Medieval and Modern history of Eritrea. These sections includes pre-history culture and civilization right from Beja expansion emergence and spread of Islam to the Ottoman and Egyptian conquests and their socio-cultural impacts on the Eritrean society. It also discusses the aspiration of Abyssinian rulers to control the region as well as focuses on the Italian occupation and the British Military Administration in the region and the socio-economic effects colonialism in Eritrea. It further discusses the ''Eritrean Question'' in the UNO and emergence of national movement which led to the successful freedom struggle of Eritrea. It further throws some lights on the establishment of new nation and its challenges.
