The Charlie-130 Hercules transport aircraft is the workhorse of the Royal Air Force. The fleet totals 50 aircraft and it is used primarily to carry troops passengers or freight. Each aircraft can carry up to 128 passengers or 20 tonnes of palletised freight or vehicles for up to 2000 miles. It requires an enormous amount of effort in the form of servicing to perform its Herculean tasks. This work is about the life loves and escapades of those young men who perform the servicings whether they be simply topping up the fuel or deep stripping the powerplants.
