Eruca Sativa Mill and Endocrine Disruptors

Oxidative stress can be assessed at various levels: on the one hand by measuring modified biological molecules such as peroxidized lipids and oxidized proteins; on the other by determining the antioxidant potential of superoxide dismutases (SOD) catalases and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Secondly antioxidant potential can be assessed by determining the enzymatic activities of superoxide dismutases (SOD) catalases and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). In terms of reprotoxicity our results revealed a reduction in the net weight of male reproductive organs with a decrease in the number of normal spermatozoa and their motility and an increase in abnormal sperm with abnormalities of the head and tail. Our results on the efficacy of arugula (Eruca Sativa Mill) have enabled us to determine its antioxidant power against radical attack thanks to its rich phenolic compound content which acts as a scavenger of oxy-radicals.
