The water was shallow and spotted with pebbles. Skipping on the pebbles I crossed the river. When I could finally catch my breath and look up to the road it was empty. The truck was nowhere to be found and my family was gone forever. Mo...mmm I wailed. The cry pierced through the hollow of the valleys and brought back only the echoes from the mountains. Tears streamed down my already wet cheeks. I was alone exhausted and horrified.
