Ethics

Ethics or moral philosophy is a branch of philosophy that is concerned with establishing upholding and advocating ideas of right and wrong conduct. It deals with matters of value and falls under the division of philosophy called axiology. Ethics seeks to solve the questions of human morality by defining concepts such as good and evil right and wrong virtue and vice and justice and crime. As a field of intellectual inquiry ethics also deals with the areas of moral psychology descriptive ethics and value theory. Meta-ethics normative ethics and applied ethics are the three major recognized areas of study within ethics.
