Eucalyptus and Cattle in Integrated Systems

About The Book

Trees can improve the productivity of a production system. Integrated systems with trees and animals have been increasingly adopted in Brazil as they enable diversification income generation and environmental protection. However damage to trees caused by the presence of cattle in the system can make it impossible to achieve these advantages. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of pruning on the debarking of the trunks of Eucalyptus benthamii trees and the damage caused by the presence of animals in a silvopastoral system. It also shows the initial growth of E. benthamii in different treatments: cattle-forest (PF) crop-livestock-forest (LPF) crop-forest (LF) and forest monoculture or forest massif (FM). This is an interesting work for professionals in the agricultural sciences especially those who work or intend to work with integrated systems.
