The poet considered by Russians to be the creator of their literature Eugene Onegin is most known for his masterwork. Pushkin's verse tale which is set in 1820s Russia recounts the lives of three men and three women. It portrays a wide cast of other people and offers the reader several literary philosophical and autobiographical digressions frequently in a highly humorous manner. It is engaging suspenseful and varied in tone. Pushkin himself regarded Eugene Onegin as his favourite work and this new translation accurately captures both the literal meaning and the poetic harmony of the original.
