Evaluation of personal protective measures in the healthcare environment

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is used when a hazard cannot be eliminated or adequately controlled. They are considered the ultimate level of protection.This is equipment worn by workers to minimize their exposure to certain occupational risks.In our study we were interested in the evaluation of the knowledge and practices of healthcare personnel regarding PPE using a questionnaire which had identified insufficiencies in knowledge resources and practices relating to to this theme.Also we assessed the inventory in the various departments and laboratories of the Charles Nicolle University Hospital in order to determine the arrangement and conformity of this PPE based on an observation grid.
