About The Book

Class II activator high-pull HG combination have long been used for the treatment of Class II malocclusions; many studies have concentrated mainly on their effects on the temporomandibular joint and the stress related to the mandible and the distribution of stress in the mandible is not precisely assessed. It is also important to elucidate the association of the distribution of mechanical stress along the mandible during the chin cup therapy. It was shown that excessive stresses during orthodontic loading can lead to substantial degradation of tooth tissue reduced functionality and disappointing esthetic and clinical outcomes. Hence the stress in mandible during the Orthopaedic force application and orthodontic tooth movement is analysed using FEM. FEM is the most suitable means of analysis because of its ability to handle various shapes and material in homogeneity.
