Evaluation of Training Effectiveness for Leadership Development

Although most organizations are aware of the important role that leadership development plays in the success of an organization business executives are increasingly demanding more precise measurements of this importance. This thesis attemps to clarify some of the main issues surrounding the controversial topic of training evaluation and give practical guidance for organizations to assess the effectiveness of costly leadership development practices. With this purpose this thesis covers issues regarding the translation of training efforts into tangible business results the controversy regarding the use of ROI (return on investment) in the evaluation of training effectiveness and the alignment of leadership development practices into the organization's broader strategic goals.
