Evan's War

Evan Morgan is a Welsh youth whose fine mind is wasted laboring in the coalmines of the Rhondda Valley. When war breaks out he sees a chance to escape the mine and serve his county by joining the army. Leaving behind his childhood sweetheart Gwyn a free-spirited Welsh poet Evan is sent to fight the Turks at Gallipoli unprepared for the horrors of trench warfare. An unexpected friendship with a Turk and his Armenian wife and beautiful niece turns Evan away from war and into the culture of his adversary.
