Evolution of Brackets in Orthodontics

When we look in to the history of Science of Orthodontics the archaeologists have discovered mummified ancients with crude metal bands wrapped around individual teeth. Brackets are the means by which forces are applied to the teeth to get desired tooth movement. We have brackets made from stainless steel to esthetic materials labial to lingual system ligated to self ligated passive to smart with various prescriptions from Angle’s to MBT series. Hence this book is undertaken to describe the past bracket systems in brief and the contemporary brackets in detail.
