About The Book

This work deals with the study of the electronic and optical behaviors of the exciton confined in a system of asymmetric semiconductor nanostructures of cylindrical geometry as a function of the size of the box pressure temperature and depth of the confinement potential. The discussed quasiparticles are frozen inside a nanobox of cylindrical nature with the consideration of a new confinement system imposed by the different regions surrounding the quantum box. This study has been carried out in the framework of the effective mass approximation and the variational approach to examine the physical and optical properties of the exciton. The results found show the importance of the different effects indicated above on the excitonic properties in this type of nanosystem. We believe that the obtained results are of great scientific and technological importance since they allow to take advantage of the properties of excitons in these orders and laboratory conditions.
