EXPLORE UNTAPPED POTENTIAL OF NORTH-EASTERN REGION

India’s North-east region is a land of breath-taking landscapes diverse cultures and rich tribal heritage. However this region faces a significant challenge in fully integrating its indigenous communities into the mainstream development narrative.The North-east is envisioned as a key economic corridor connecting India with South-east Asia.Organically produced commodities are a unique feature of the North-east that still have not reached their full potential.The North-east is one of the World’s biodiversity hotspots home to numerous rare and endemic species of flora and fauna.Major challenges related to India’s North-east region are: persistent insurgency and ethnic conflicts agricultural challenges China’s growing influence and border disputes infrastructure deficit and connectivity issues etc.There is a need to bridge the gap between its North-east region and the rest of the country. By investing in its North-east India can unlock a treasure trove of cultural richness economic opportunity and environmental stewardship.All these issues have been covered under seven chapters of the book.
