Exploring the Potential of Drama for Pragmatic Instruction

In order to communicate effectively in a second or foreign language one needs to be competent about the sociocultural norms of the language. The book reviews the literature on interlanguage pragmatics and pragmatic instruction and the use of literature in language instruction. Then it reports on an investigation into the role of explicit and implicit instruction through a literary genre i.e. play in pragmatic development of language learners.
