This study investigated EFL Egyptian students’ vocabulary size and the vocabulary strategies they use; the study further examined the relationship between their vocabulary knowledge and their use. The researcher administered a vocabulary learning strategy questionnaire Schmitt et al.’s (2001) Receptive Vocabulary Levels Test (Version 2) Laufer and Nation’s (1999) Productive Vocabulary Levels Test (Version C)In addition to a semi-structured interview to collect in-depth data about the students'' vocabulary learning strategies.
