Expressions on the Violin in Hindustani Classical Music

Dr.Rewati Velhal had started her lessons in violin playing at the early age of fourteen under the tutelage of Pandit Bal Krishna Upadhye who was a follower of Bhaskarao Bakhale and Pandit Shridhar Parsekar tradition. She continued learning the art of violin playing under the guidance of Pandit Atulkumar Upadhye a violinist of international fame. With intent observation and dedicated practice she has mastered the intricate techniques of violin playing and completed her Doctorate in this subject from S.N.D.T. University Mumbai.. Dr. Sheetal More has made a commendable contribution in the field of music and played a key role both in administration and Research development. To mention her contribution as an administrator she has worked for twenty four years as an Associate Professor and Head of the Music Department at Pune for Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey University. She is the Chairperson for the Admission Committee the Chairperson for Board of Studies in the SNDT Women’s University and has been appointed as the Subject Expert in the Board of Studies in other Universities also.
