Reading this book is like dreaming awake. A book in two halves - the first partially a nostalgic visit to childhood reading and childhood itself. The second part is post-apocalypse and involves the journey home and intrigues of a group of characters including our 'heroes' voyaging to Europe across oceans ending in a ruined Venice to live out their lives. This story is for mature readers and not for children and is a commentary on our cruel but captivating world.</span></p>
