Rehabilitation of post surgical or congenital facial defect is a challenging procedure. The surgeon is limited by the complexity of the structures which need reconstruction the availability of tissue compromised local blood supply by radiation in malignancy patients and the need for visual inspection of certain oncologic defects. Both surgical reconstruction and prosthetic rehabilitation have distinct limitations. But prosthetic rehabilitation provides a cost effective and more esthetic treatment option. Prosthetic rehabilitation improves psychological status and quality of life of such patients as unwanted attention is overcome after insertion of the prosthesis. Improved materials for prosthesis fabrication have given cutting edge to the prosthetic treatment outcome.
