Extraintestinal manifestations of IBD in children

About The Book

The extraintestinal manifestations of UC and CD are very similar. They occur in 30-36% of IBD patients with rheumatological cutaneous ocular and hepatobiliary manifestations occurring in decreasing order of frequency. They are more frequent in the colonic forms especially in pancolitis. Some develop in parallel with IBD others independently. IBD associated with colitis activity tends to be associated in the same patient. Sometimes EIMs are the first signs of IBD and can be misleading.
