Facets of an all-weather partnership

In March 2023 the leaders of the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China (PRC) adopted a joint statement on the basic principles of developing exemplary relations of all-weather and all-round strategic partnership between the two countries in the new era which include mutual support for the state course and on issues affecting each other's indigenous interests. In August 2024 Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of the People's Republic of China paid an official visit to Belarus during which a number of documents were signed revealing the potential of China-Belarus cooperation in trade investment development and deepening of industrial cooperation scientific and technological cooperation as well as in-depth plans for the joint development of China's provinces and regions of Belarus. The two governments decided to declare 2024-2025 the Years of Cooperation between Belarus and China in Science Technology and Innovation. In short the two countries have set further concrete tasks and plans showing the exemplary nature of an all-weather and all-round strategic partnership in the new era despite the overall situation in the global economy. This is the subject of this study.
