Faith's Story

On the wild prairies of the Dakota Territory Faith de Lambert and her family homestead near the town of LaSalle. Life is difficult but through their faith they learn to coexist with the native people and to endure the hardships of pioneer life.</P>It is an exciting time to live in the territory as it will soon be divided into two states-North Dakota and South Dakota. Faith anticipates the future with hopes and dreams especially when she thinks of John the handsome homesteader who moved to the territory not long ago. When Faith is asked to teach at the local school she eagerly accepts.</P>As the town of LaSalle continues to grow and South Dakota achieves statehood Faith's life also changes. Her teaching duties at the small schoolhouse bring her continual joy. But it's not until Christmas Eve that she receives a special surprise-an offer of marriage.</P><I>Faith's Story</I> shares the history and hardship of life in the Dakota Territory and captures the strength and faith of the pioneer spirit.</P>
