In fact their actions were quite the opposite.

The comparisons to today's so-called Christians and their unholy words and actions including their racism anti-LGBTQ anti-women's rights anti-immigrant and pro-NRA views are examined. Best of all the book provides a path forward one that combines the author's personal experience and her idealism about how to improve our country and our spiritual lives with a more positive vision of the future. A really good read.

-Chaitanya Komanduri

A well written easy to read discussion of the impact of Christian teaching on children in schools years back drawing parallels to modern Christian impact on our lives and government in the US. Ms. Potter draws a parallel that shows the deep differences between the public persona of different Christian organizations and the real impact and struggles that result from their influence on individuals and society in general. Highly recommended!!!

-Charles Parkinson
