Families of Bergen County New Jersey

In 1923 Westervelt published her three-volume History of Bergen County New Jersey 1630-1923. The second half of that work commencing in the middle of the second volume and occupying all of the third and consisting of 1200 biographical and genealogical sketches of Bergen County families has been reprinted here under the title Families of Bergen County New Jersey. For the most part the essays concern Bergen County men and to a lesser extent women who were born during the final quarter of the 19th century. In most cases we also are told of the person's place and date of birth the names and birthplaces of his/her parents the name of the spouse with the date of marriage the names birthdates and places of birth of children and sometimes even more.
